State of California Contracts CherryRoad
Technologies for FI$Cal Project

CherryRoad Technologies Inc., an Oracle Platinum partner and leading public sector systems integrator has announced their selection by the State to play a key role in its quest to establish an integrated Financial Management System (FMS) through the implementation of Oracle PeopleSoft. CherryRoad has subcontracted with M Corp, a Sacramento-based company that has handled approximately 20 legacy migration projects for the State of California, to assist in this engagement.

This initiative, termed FI$Cal (Financial Information System for California), is a ground-breaking, statewide business transformation project which encompasses the areas of budgeting, accounting, procurement, and cash management. CherryRoad’s contract with the FI$Cal Project, a partnership with the Department of Finance, State Controller’s Office, State Treasurer’s Office, and Department of General Services, is approximately $26 million and given the scope and complexity, will take several years to complete.

Together, CherryRoad and M Corp will provide the State with the necessary expertise and services required to successfully prepare for and execute legacy systems identification, legacy artifacts collection, and the migration of legacy systems data into the new FI$Cal PeopleSoft Enterprise Resource Planning staging area. Among their many objectives, the two companies will identify and migrate data from the State’s approximated 2,200 legacy systems across 156 state departments including agencies, offices, boards, and commissions to the new Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise Resource Planning software system.

“We are truly honored to partner with the State of California in this milestone initiative which will completely revolutionize the way it does business,” said CherryRoad President, Jeremy Gulban. “Having successfully implemented more Oracle PeopleSoft statewide engagements than any other Oracle partner, CherryRoad brings our amassed depth of public sector knowledge and best practices learned from the implementations and upgrades of 14 prior state clients to the State to ensure the success of this initiative.”

“We’re extremely honored to work with the State on such a landmark project,” said Alex Castro, one of three founding partners of M Corp. “We are very excited at the opportunity to utilize our demonstrated and successful legacy migration frameworks and tools to support CherryRoad and the State of California.”
