A Pauper's Approach to a Unified Security Framework for Oracle PeopleSoft Applications
Vickie Martin, CherryRoad Senior Consultant and Lone Star College System
Mon, Mar 19, 2012 (4:30 PM - 5:30 PM) - Security and Audit Track
In the first phase their ERP implementation of 8 products/44 modules in 18 months (CS, FSCM, HCM, ELM, OBIEE, EPM, MDM, Hyperion), Lone Star College System (LSCS) was responsible for the entire security design, setup, testing, and production use. They quickly realized that there was no way that they could do this same thing with their one security administrator as they moved into their subsequent phases and finally into production. They tried using scripts to load their security from Excel; that took too long and caused too many errors, not to mention it actually took more time than doing the security manually! Learn how LSCS worked with CherryRoad to develop a streamlined approach to PeopleSoft security by employing a common strategy for naming security, so as to assure we can support our large institution. Assuring that security was auditable, redacting redundancy, assuring that PeopleSoft security was identifiable in Portal as well as be easy to manage during bundles and upgrades.
