The Need

HIDOE is in need of modernizing its current FMS, a system that has significantly limited the Department’s processes and responsiveness. The current legacy FMS lacks functionality, modern day capabilities, and vendor support. In October 2018, a several-week Department-wide FMS outage occurred causing massive disruptions throughout HIDOE and further solidifying the urgent need for an upgraded system.

The Solution

The new FMS will enable the Legislature, Board of Education and HIDOE leaders to have better insight through data in context for informed decision-making. The new system will also provide a better understanding of where funding and resources are going, what benefits are provided, along with creating a strong foundation for the Department’s school-based design efforts.
