CherryRoad provided its BPO expertise to the Port of Seattle. With numerous facilities connecting passengers and cargo by air, water, and land, the Port of Seattle creates long-term economic benefits and builds transportation infrastructure that contributes to the vitality of the Pacific Northwest. A long-time client, the Port engaged CherryRoad to optimize some of their key business processes in order to maximize the effectiveness of a planned upgrade of their Financials system.
We focused our Business Process Optimization assessment on four key areas: purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and capital projects. After conducting interviews and visioning sessions with stakeholders in each area, we developed and presented specific recommendations for optimizing related processes.
For example, we recommended the Port develop new policies and procedures on the retention of hard copy requisitions, purchase orders, vouchers, and invoices to greatly reduce the printing, copying, and filing of paperwork. The Port implemented our recommendations as an integral part of their ERP upgrade, thereby leveraging the full capabilities of the system.
