CherryRoad has extensive experience performing ERP implementations and upgrades for healthcare clients. These include Atlantic Health System in Florham Park, New Jersey; New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City; Memorial Hospital and Health System in South Bend, Indiana; Saint Barnabas Health Care System in Livingston, New Jersey; Saint Clare’s Health Services in Denville, New Jersey; and Visiting Nurse Service of New York in New York City.
Through these successful engagements, CherryRoad has developed a superior level of knowledge specific to healthcare organizations and the issues they face. Most are seeking ways to improve patient care and safety while contending with constrained budgets and limited resources, making it critical to maximize cost controls and staff efficiencies. With a national shortage of healthcare professionals, recruiting and retention are also top priorities, as is making caregivers comfortable with new systems and processes. In addition, healthcare organizations face changing regulatory mandates, making compliance a dynamic endeavor.
CherryRoad has expertise with all of these issues and more. For example, our solutions will streamline and optimize business processes, enabling caregivers to focus more time on delivering patient care. We’ll integrate ERP solutions with healthcare-specific systems like Cerner. We’ll automate procurement to better manage your 24/7 inventory needs and reduce associated costs. With internet-enabled self-service applications, we’ll help you eliminate inefficiencies and redundancies in your accounting and human resources departments. We can also automate your recruiting and resume processing functions so that you can quickly fill your open positions with qualified professionals.
For example, we’ve consistently exceeded the expectations of Atlantic Health System (AHS), which serves nearly five million people in 11 New Jersey counties and is ranked among the top 100 integrated healthcare networks nationwide. Our relationship with AHS began when we took over an implementation gone awry that one of the Big Four consulting firms had started. That firm said they couldn’t meet their promised deadline due to unforeseen complexities in AHS’s business processes. Certainly, it was a challenging project: the implementation of HR, Payroll, and Benefits Administration applications for approximately 10,000 employees – at the same time AHS was merging three hospitals on disparate systems into one. But, CherryRoad pulled it off and went live on time. AHS said we “demonstrated a clear understanding of the challenges and obstacles unique to implementations in the healthcare industry and exhibited a willingness to do whatever was needed to get the job done within our timeframe.” We even incorporated healthcare-specific functionality that went beyond the initial project specifications. Since then, CherryRoad has upgraded the HR system twice, implemented additional modules, and provided other assistance as AHS grew and acquired more hospitals. Recently, we implemented various HR self-service modules as well as streamlined AHS’s recruitment process.
CherryRoad has also worked on numerous ERP initiatives with the Visiting Nurse Service (VNS) of New York, the nation’s largest non-profit home healthcare provider. Most recently, we upgraded VNS’s HR applications. We also implemented HR, Payroll, and Benefits Administration modules. VNS has experienced improvements throughout its organization. Our integration of HR Recruit Workforce with the MagnaWare RezPrize product suite gave VNS a full set of web-based recruitment automation functionality. This was a critical enhancement for an organization that makes well over two million professional visits to over 100,000 patients annually. The payroll system that CherryRoad implemented enables VNS to calculate and confirm its payroll within 2 hours, rather than the 2 days required previously. And, in a period when VNS’s curriculum offerings grew from 100 to 250 course sessions per year, the Administer Training system we implemented enabled them to reduce the cycle time for scheduling training from 5 hours to 2 hours per session. We also helped VNS implement ERP functionality in areas including performance management, compensation management, emergency preparedness, and the new-hire-to-employee process.
