CherryRoad successfully completes Lucas County Oracle/PeopleSoft Human Capital Management system upgrade & enhancements.

Lucas County, OH, went live in April ’07 with a successful upgrade and enhancement of their Oracle/PeopleSoft Human Capital Management system. The version 8.3 to 8.9 upgrade encompasses the County’s Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits, and Time & Labor business operations. By partnering with CherryRoad, a full-service systems integrator and Oracle Certified Advantage Partner, the County met key challenges set forth during the 6-month endeavor - on-time and under budget. This is the second initiative in which Lucas County has teamed with CherryRoad to leverage their Oracle/PeopleSoft Enterprise investment. Previously, CherryRoad developed the strategic plan and implemented the County’s original Oracle/PeopleSoft HCM system. In addition, CherryRoad continues to act as the prime contractor as the County implements an Oracle/PeopleSoft Financial system.

Lucas County has realized immediate benefits from this recent upgrade: reduced customizations and modifications will lead to a lower cost to support the system; newly increased end user productivity from automated workflows; and reduced total cost of ownership specifically as it relates to applying tax updates and maintenance packs. As a result, the County is successfully positioned to take full advantage of future product enhancements from Oracle. County employees can be more effective in serving constituents because they are more productive in their everyday tasks.

Ron Heinold, Lucas County Applications System Manager stated, “We are very impressed by the knowledge and expertise of CherryRoad consultants. We (Lucas County) achieved every objective we set out to accomplish and delivered the project on time and under budget. We increased end user productivity and system performance by 35% in the areas of Payroll and Benefits Administration and by 67% in Time & Labor. This was the second time we have contracted with CherryRoad and we are equally pleased with the end results of this project.
