PARSIPPANY, NJ - Aug. 1, 2001… Acuent Inc., a full-service systems integrator, today announced the promotion of Tom Ferrando to president and chief operating officer, effective today.
In his new position, Mr. Ferrando will lead Acuent's day-to-day activities and assume responsibility for the sales and employee services organizations. He will continue to oversee Acuent's Enterprise Solutions division, which provides e-Business and enterprise applications solutions for Fortune 1000 and public sector customers. Previously, Mr. Ferrando served as senior vice president of the division.
Acuent's founder and previous president, Mike Gulban, will remain CEO and chairman of the company's board of directors. He will continue to oversee Acuent's finance and administration functions, as well as the strategic development of the company's e-Market services division, which focuses on e-Marketplace implementation and business-to-business integration services. Under Mr. Gulban's leadership, Acuent has consistently demonstrated strong top- and bottom-line growth, even in the current soft economy.

Mr. Ferrando joined Acuent as a consultant in 1997 and was successively promoted to the positions of manager, director, vice president of enterprise applications solutions and senior vice president of enterprise solutions.
Prior to joining Acuent, Mr. Ferrando was general manager of operations and systems at Prudential Disability Management Services. He also served as senior systems analyst/project manager for Prudential's HealthCare Group. Mr. Ferrando earned a master of science degree in human resource management from Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ. and a bachelor of science degree in computer science from Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ.
